1. Attendance, Grace Periods & Tardiness
Punctuality and consistent attendance are mandatory for both lecture and laboratory sessions.
Punctuality Warning
Attendance is taken promptly at the start of every session. Missing the roll call means being marked absent for that day!
Grace Period & Tardiness Policy
Grace Period:A 15 to 20-minute margin is granted from the official start time of class.
Late Marking:Arriving after the grace period or after the official roll call forfeits your attendance for the session.
3-Late Penalty:Accumulating three (3) tardy entries will result in a referral to the Prefect of Discipline and require a written explanation/pass detailing the reasons for frequent tardiness.
Absences & Attendance Tracking
Roll Call Protocol:Attendance is conducted every meeting. If you are not present during roll call, you will be marked absent.
Validated Excuses:Excused absences require official documentation submitted to the instructor prior to or immediately following the missed class.
2. Computer Laboratory Guidelines
Strict protocols to safeguard computer hardware, software, and student learning environments.
Zero Tolerance on Prohibited Activities
Playing games and bringing open liquid containers near computer units will result in immediate disciplinary action and laboratory penalties.
Prohibited Games & Misuse
No Gaming:Playing computer/online games on laboratory units is strictly prohibited.
Sanctions:Students caught playing games on student workstations will face laboratory penalties and possible loss of lab privileges.
Food, Drinks & Waste Management
Food & Liquids:No food allowed inside the lab. Liquids are strictly prohibited near workstations unless securely stored in sealed tumblers or leak-proof water containers.
Trash Disposal:Clean as you go (CLAYGO). Dispose of all trash in designated bins before leaving the laboratory room.
Programming Lab Ethics & Hardware Care
Hardware Maintenance:Report any faulty PCs, keyboards, or monitors to the instructor immediately. Do not attempt to rewire or disassemble equipment.
Independent Coding:Avoid copying code or plugging unauthorized external software scripts without instructor clearance.
3. Uniform, Grooming & Identifications
Maintaining the Cecilian identity through proper attire, grooming standards, and student decorum.
Uniform Guidelines
Official Uniform:Must be worn during regular school days (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays).
Civilian Days:Regular civilian wear is allowed only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, adhering to modest dress standards.
Student ID:The official St. Cecilia's College ID must be worn at all times while on campus and inside the classroom/laboratory.
Grooming & Decorum Standards
Haircut Standard:Male students must maintain clean, standard school-approved haircuts.
Accessories:No earrings for male students inside school premises.
Cecilian Prayer:First-year students are required to learn and recite the Cecilian Prayer during opening routines.

College vs. Senior High School (SHS) Paradigm Shift
Unlike SHS where whole grade levels move together, college academic advancement depends entirely on passing individual subjects. Failing a prerequisite course blocks you from enrolling in higher-level major subjects, Capstone projects, and On-the-Job Training (OJT).
Understanding Prerequisites
What is a Prerequisite?:A required foundational subject you must pass before enrolling in an advanced course. For instance, passing Computer Programming 1 (CC102) is mandatory before taking Object-Oriented Programming or Data Structures.
The Domino Effect:If you fail a prerequisite subject, you cannot advance to its subsequent major courses until you retake and pass it, which can delay your graduation timeline.
Subject Retakes & Academic Chain
Retaking Courses:Failed courses can be retaken in upcoming semesters or summer offerings, subject to schedule availability.
Impact on Capstone Projects & OJT:You cannot enroll in Capstone 1 & 2 or deployment/OJT if you have unpassed foundational major subjects. Every prerequisite forms a building block toward your final degree output.
